A fire broke out in an area of bush in the county of Castro Verde, Beja district, and the fight against the flames mobilized about a hundred operational and four aerial means, said source of Civil Protection.
The source of the District Command of Relief Operations (CDOS) of Beja told the Lusa news agency that the fire alert, which broke out in the Vale Charneco area, parish of São Marcos da Ataboeira, was given at 12:15.
According to the same source, the fire was still active at 16:30 and no further information was provided.
The fight against the flames mobilized, at 16:30, according to Civil Protection, 95 operational, supported by 26 vehicles and four aerial means.
Also in the district of Beja, another fire in the bush flared in the afternoon on Monte das Mestras, in the municipality of Almodôvar.
The alert for the fire, also in the bush, was given at 15:28 and an hour later was being fought by 46 operatives, with the support of 14 vehicles and three aerial means, according to the site of the National Protection Authority Civil (ANPC).
The fire was dominated by firefighters around 7:00 p.m., Lusa source of Civil Protection told the agency.
